A new boutique food market and cafe is opening on Ottawa Street

Hamilton food lovers who live in and around the Crown Point neighbourhood will have plenty to get excited about as a new boutique grocer, food shop, and cafe is preparing to open its doors.

Ottawa Market will soon become a fixture of Ottawa Street, taking up residence inside a former bank and bringing the best of local food to the neighbourhood.

Locals should immediately recognizes the forces behind Ottawa Market as the same ones behind the well-loved Dundurn Market, which is known for its quality grocery items, small-batch food products, café bites, and takeaway dishes.

Ottawa Market will be a larger space than Dundurn Market, featuring a café with seating and coffee roasted sustainably in-house.

Ottawa Market’s focus on community is already abundantly clear, as well; they’ve commissioned local mural artist Kyle Joedicke to craft an eye-catching mural for the market’s front façade, and they’re event partnering with Community Fridges HamOnt to host yet another vital community fridge outside of their shop.

The market has even expressed interest in becoming an event space, hosting everything from cooking classes to yoga sessions to live music and beyond once they finally get to open up shop.

This place is sure to become an essential piece of Ottawa Street, so check them out on social media to stay updated on opening announcements!
