Hamilton pub Ye Olde Squire has opened a new location on Locke Street

A local favourite for traditional, British-style pub bites has found a new home on the Locke Street strip.

Ye Olde Squire, which has a prominent location along Upper James and another on Fennell Avenue East, has officially opened the doors of its new Locke Street location, which also features a large outdoor patio.

Locals will readily recognize the new location as the former home of Mattson & Co.: a casual fine dining restaurant and jazz lounge that had become one of Locke’s most popular dining spots.

With Mattson & Co. sadly closing up shop permanently just a few months ago, Ye Olde Squire readily moved in and got the space ready to open right in the midst of patio season.

Officially named The Squire Pub on Locke, this new restaurant features what Hamiltonians have come to expect out of the locally-owned pub chain: shareable apps, salads, sandwiches, and pub-style classics like bangers & mash, bison meatloaf, haddock & chips, and much more.

A solid array of domestic and craft beer, wine, and cocktails round out the menu, making for a solid pub experience that builds on the Hamilton staple’s already-established popularity.

The Squire Pub on Locke is open now for in-person dining and takeaway at 225 Locke Street South. Follow them on social media for more!
