Pizza and beer is an iconic pairing; and now, locations of Pizza Pizza in Hamilton are becoming a one-stop shop for fresh pies and a couple of cold ones.
It’s part of a pilot project launched by the mammoth pizza chain, which has selected Hamilton and Winnipeg as testing grounds for retail takeaway beer at city-wide, licensed Pizza Pizza locations.

Craft beer lovers won’t have anything to get excited about, however: Pizza Pizza’s beer offerings lie strictly in the domestic, macro-brewed territory, with selections in Hamilton currently including Coors Light, Molson Canadian, Moosehead, and Heineken.
Eleven total Pizza Pizza locations in Hamilton are part of the pilot, including in the lower city at 85 King Street East, 296 King Street East and 815 Main Street West.
There are also some Hamilton Mountain and Stoney Creek locations participating at 958 Garth Street, 1508 Upper James, 279 Mud Street, 374 Mohawk Road East, and 129 Queenston Road.
In addition, an Ancaster location at 73 Wilson Street West and a Dundas location at 49 King Street East are included in the pilot project.
It remains to be seen if this new retail beer feature will stick around at Pizza Pizza, as well as whether or not the pizza chain will branch out in its beer selections to include a wider range of breweries and styles in the future.
