A hidden ice cream shop has opened in Hamilton

Ice cream, anyone? A new ice cream shop has opened in Hamilton; but you might not spot it unless you know what to look for.

Located inside of a colourful repurposed van in Downtown Dundas, Brix Ice Cream isn’t visible from the main downtown strip.

But a peek around the corner behind the Bank of Montreal at Sydenham Street will reveal a loudly painted van serving up delicious soft-serve ice cream cones, cold brew coffee, and other creative treats.

The project is a collaboration between Midfield Interactive and Café Domestiique, the latter of which took up residence in the same colourful van before moving into their new permanent digs at 102 King Street West.

Brix’s social media reveals a bit of what to expect at the new Dundas ice cream shop, from ice cream floats to soft serve in a variety of twisty flavours to offerings like the “a-faux-gato” that combines some fresh soft serve with delicious cold brew coffee.

If you know anything about the quality and playfulness brought by these two local brands, you’ll know why Brix Ice Cream is well worth a visit. Check ‘em out on social media for more!
