Heads up, Hamilton: a new bakery and sweet shop has opened its doors in the city and it’s serving up desserts with a Middle Eastern flair.
Queen Desserts, which opened just over a week ago at 144 Barton Street East, is absolutely ham packed with all things sweet including Western-style desserts like cakes, cupcakes, and more.
Of course, the shop also serves freshly made Middle Eastern desserts like baklava, a layered flaky pastry filled with chopped nuts; and knafeh, traditionally made with a spun pastry soaked in a sweet syrup and layered with other ingredients like cheese, nuts, or clotted cream.
Oh damn.
