A spot for Greek fusion cuisine is opening in Hamilton

A new restaurant serving up ‘Greek fusion’ cuisine is getting ready to open its doors in Hamilton.

Apllada Restaurant will soon be opening at 635 King Street East in the former home of Mississippi Queen Foods – directly beside Aristos Greek Bakery – bringing the fresh, bright, homey, and satisfying flavours of Greek cuisine to the lower city.

Though details on the menu are still pretty scant, Apllada has been sharing gradual updates on social media suggesting a range of dishes that are as healthy as they are hearty, with some modern fusion twists and items that go beyond what you may find in your typical Greek joint.

“We want to give you the opportunity to discover how much more there is to Greek cuisine than Souvlaki and Mousaka,” reads a note from Apllada on social media.

Though a firm opening date is still to come, the restaurant expresses its hopes to be open sometime in the middle of March pending city approval, meaning some delicious Greek eats are likely mere weeks away!
