This new Hamilton takeout spot serves up fresh burgers and tacos

A tiny new takeaway spot has opened its doors in Hamilton to serve up a wide variety of enticing handhelds.
The Steel City Bistro, now open at 355 Main Street East, is an unabashedly Hamilton-proud new restaurant specializing in made-to-order sandwiches like pulled pork and meatball alongside a menu of burger creations, fresh tacos, and sides like fries and mac ‘n cheese.
With the food spot’s official colours being black and yellow, Steel City Bistro makes it abundantly clear from the get-go that they’re huge fans of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
That Ticat allegiance is even more clear upon perusing their menu, with burger options given names like the Holy Mackinaw, topped with bacon, cheddar, caramelized onion, and mushroom; or the provocatively-titled Argos Suck with caramelized onion, peppers, banana pepper rings, and mustard.
Given that Steel City Bistro is a mere five-minute drive from Tim Hortons Field, it’s easy to see this spot being a hot place for a quick pre-game bite each time the Ticats take the field for a home game.
