A new spot for rolled ice cream is opening in Hamilton

Just in time for the arrival of warmer weather, a sweet new ice cream spot is opening in Hamilton that does things a little differently.

Diced Ice is getting ready to open its doors this summer at 129 Locke Street South in the former home of Finch Coffee Bar right beside Belgian gastropub Brux House.

What sets this place apart from other ice cream parlours in Hamilton is that Diced Ice deals in Thai-style rolled ice cream, which is made to order in a variety of flavours using a cream mixture that is poured onto a machine with cold, flat surface; frozen into a thin layer of fresh ice cream; and then scraped into layered rolls with a metal spatula.

The result is an attractive and delicious frozen dessert that Diced Ice says will be available in a variety of Southeast Asian flavours like Thai tea, lychee, and many others.

Rolled ice cream is certainly a newer treat to the Hamilton area, so it’s not hard to see Diced Ice becoming a super popular spot once it opens this summer on the Locke Street strip!
