Dear Grain Bakery has opened its own shop in Hamilton

If you love sourdough as much as I do, get ready to be in heaven: Hamilton-born bakery Dear Grain has opened its own retail space in the city.

Officially open as of June 18th, Dear Grain Bakery has turned a piece of their Hamilton production facility into a shop where locals can pop by to take home a sourdough boule and some other baked indulgences.

Dear Grain has steadily grown in popularity since its founding in 2018, where it started as a humble operation in the kitchen at Detour Café in Dundas.

Since then, a standalone retail shop in Toronto has followed to great success, and the bakery is finally opening up its own shop as Hamilton as well to make it even easier for locals to get their hands on some of Dear Grain’s exceptional sourdough.

Dear Grain makes use of a slow fermentation process and a higher level of hydration than many other sourdough bakers, resulting in a bread that is flavourful, dense, and pillowy all at once.

Other pastries that go beyond bread at Dear Grain include sweet indulgences like sourdough loaf cakes and sourdough cookies.

If you’ve had Dear Grain before, you’ll know this local bakery brings the goods. If you haven’t had it before, what are you waiting for? Visit their new Hamilton shop at 103 Vine Street on Thursdays and Fridays from 3 pm to 6 pm, or Saturday and Sundays from 10 am to 2 pm!

See more on their social media.
