Beloved vegan bakery in Hamilton is closing its doors

The closures in Hamilton just keep on coming, with one of the city’s popular plant-based bakeries bidding farewell very soon.

Dolled Up Desserts, located at 142 James Street North, is unmissable for its eye-catching pink façade and unforgettable for its tempting desserts like cookies, butter tarts, cakes, blondies, scones, and more; all made with 100 per cent vegan and gluten free ingredients.

The sweet shop has amassed quite a following for its delicious baked goods; but sadly, Dolled Up Desserts has announced that it will be closing permanently after its final service on October 8th, 2022.

“This was not an easy decision, nor is it ideal, but sometimes life throws unexpected wrenches into your plans and you need to change gears,” wrote Dolled Up Desserts’ owner and founder Katarina Poletto on social media.

“There are no words to describe the gratitude I have for you, our community and supporters. thank you for an incredible 6 years of inclusive dessert.”

Though Dolled Up Desserts with Poletto at the helm is closing, the business is currently being offered for sale to anyone who may want to take the reins and continue offering plant-based, gluten-free treats to the Hamilton community.
