Hamilton’s Grandad’s Donuts will be closing for an expansion

One of Hamilton’s most popular donut spots will be closing up temporarily in the new year; but with very good reason.

Grandad’s Donuts, located at 574 James Street North and known for their classic, traditional donuts, has been known to have lengthy lineups out the door on a daily basis and routinely sells out its stock completely well before closing time.

In order to continue growing and meet the intense demand for their delicious donuts, Grandad’s has announced that they will temporarily close in the new year for a much-needed renovation.

“We know we sell out often, but we ask that customers be aware we are making these in a small kitchen by hand. As we get busier (amazing!) we can’t, unfortunately, up our production more than we already can,” wrote Grandad’s on social media.

“As a heads up for the future; we are going to be closing in January of 2023 to renovate our store completely expand our kitchen and storage so we can produce more and store more!”

While Grandad’s devotees will have to deal with a donut drought this winter, they can rest assured that the beloved shop will be back and better than ever!
