Hamilton developer creates app to help restaurants host virtual trivia nights

Hamilton developer Nick Di Felice has created a new app that will help restaurants in the city and beyond host trivia nights in a streamlined, digital format.

The app is called Trivia Rat, and it’s a web-based platform built for restaurants and bars to host trivia nights in a fully digital and far more eco-friendly, sustainable way: no more pencils, pens, paper, or waste.

So how does it work? The app, which is free for hosts to use with an account, is used by the restaurant and its guests as a platform on which to participate in trivia night; players can access the game through their phone or tablet by using a unique, game-specific link sent out in advance.

Trivia responses can then be sent in real time by players during the game, and the trivia host can immediately accept, track, and mark all answers. Team scores are also automatically updated during gameplay for an easy, streamlined playing experience.

Trivia Rat has already found its home with local restaurants and event groups; in fact, local event group Hub of the Hammer has already been using Trivia Rat to host virtual trivia games, including an upcoming game at Electric Diner in Hess Village on July 7th!
