Supercrawl announces outdoor concert series on top of Hamilton parkade

Hamilton’s art and indie music festival Supercrawl announced they will be hosting five concerts over three days in September on top of the York Boulevard parking garage.

Mayor Fred Eisenberger announced at a COVID-19 recovery meeting Tuesday night that the concerts will take place on September 25th, 26th, and 27th.

In an interview with the Hamilton Spectator, Supercrawl director Tim Potocic said each ticketed concert will be capped at 100 physically distant attendees.

Potocic also said that Supercrawl will announce the acts on September 4th and expects tickets to sell really quickly based on the performers.

Back in June, Supercrawl announced that the 2020 festival was cancelled amid the coronavirus pandemic.

There will be vendors on site and some performers will be local for each of the concerts in September, said Potocic.

The city is contributing $7,500 toward the shows on the parking garage with Supercrawl expecting to quadruple over the course of the weekend in September.

Precautions have been taken in determining the safety of the event using COVID-19 city guidelines and protocols.

Supercrawl is also working on a concert series that’s set to run from October to March.
