AGH Film Festival announces its exciting 2020 lineup of films

Get excited, film buffs: the Art Gallery of Hamilton (AGH) just announced the exciting lineup of films for the 2020 iteration of the AGH Film Festival, and it looks like there will be something for just about any local movie lover.

This year’s festival, which kicks off on October 16th and runs through to October 25th, is being presented in a different format amid the COVID-19 pandemic, with all of the screenings being offered in a digital livestream format to bring the AGH Film Festival experience right to your TV or computer screen.

So what’s in the lineup this year? The AGH Film Festival has programmed dozens of exciting new feature length and short films from across Canadas and around the world; from documentaries to dramas, from comedies to thrillers, and beyond.

Highlights of the stacked and diverse lineup include Canadian coming-of-age feature Black Conflux, which was a hit at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival and one of the festival’s Top 10 Canadian Films of that year; Feels Good Man, a documentary diving in on internet meme Pepe the Frog’s appropriation by the alt-right movement; and The Artist’s Wife, a drama starring Bruce Dern that follows a famous artist grappling with worsening dementia.

With particular emphasis on female directors, BIPOC voices, and social & political narratives in this year’s festival programming, the 2020 AGH Film Festival promises to be an especially exciting, stimulating, provocative, and moving celebration of the latest and greatest in cinema!

Tickets and passes are now available for all AGH Film Festival programming. Check out the AGH Film Festival website for more details.
