Tracie’s Place Karaoke Bar and Restaurant – a Hamilton Mountain staple – is keeping people safe during the pandemic by having them perform on stage behind a shower curtain.
Karaoke bars were among the last places to reopen after the provincial government ordered the closure of most businesses back in March.
"Doing it in the shower is a great way to stay sanitized and keep everything clean."

There were many risks cited with karaoke bars including particles and droplets being shared from people singing in front of tables of other guests.
To address this, Tracie’s Place has put multiple rigorous health & safety measures in place, including building a shower-like structure with a transparent plastic curtain covering the front of the karaoke stage that’s held up by plastic tubing.
Owner Tracie England says that the shower cubicle is a hit with patrons, and plays music between performers so the area can be properly sanitized for next singer.
Ontario’s COVID-19 cases have continued to rise over the last few weeks with daily numbers consistently remaining over 500.
This trend has growing concerns among business owners who feel like they were just allowed to reopen after the initial shutdown.
