Hamilton can be seen in this new hit Netflix series

Hamilton is hardly a stranger to the world of film & television.

Oscar-winning feature films and internationally popular television series have featured recognizable locales in our city as a prominent player on screens of all sizes. We’ve even had a new Disney movie shooting all over the city these last few weeks.

Now, Hamilton can also be clearly seen in The Queen’s Gambit: a brand new, critically acclaimed television miniseries that just dropped to Netflix.

A series with a rare 100 per cent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, this period drama based on the novel by Walter Tevis stars Anya Taylor-Joy (Split, The Witch, Thoroughbreds) as Beth Harmon, a young chess prodigy in the 1950s battling an addiction to tranquilizers as she rises to prominence in the competitive chess world.

Hamilton makes its most obvious appearance in episode two of the series, with clear shots of Taylor-Joy making her way around King Street near the corner of King and Ferguson in the city’s International Village, which has been transformed to resemble 1950s Kentucky.

Other notable Netflix series to feature Hamilton include the immensely popular Umbrella Academy as well as Self Made: Inspired by the Life of Madame C.J. Walker starring Oscar winner Octavia Spencer.

Check out The Queen’s Gambit now on Netflix!
