Local music lovers are sure to be excited by a new album that’s basically a greatest hits collection from a variety of Hamilton’s favourite music artists.
The album is called Do Well by Hamilton, and it has been released on double vinyl as part of a fundraising initiative in support of some considerable renovations to The Music Hall, one of the city’s most unique and stunning music venues inside of the converted New Vision United Church.
The album, with cover artwork designed by Dope Chief, features an eclectic collection of tracks from a diverse array of popular music artists from Hamilton including LTtheMONK, Kojo Damptey, Steve Strongman, Tom Wilson, Ian Thomas, Ellis, Monster Truck, Jackie Washington, Boris Brott & the National Academy Orchestra, Gareth Inkster, and many more.

20 per cent of the proceeds from album sales will be shared between a number of Hamilton charities, including the Aboriginal Health Centre, Immigrant Working Centre, Hamilton Youth Poets, YWCA, Pride Hamilton, and McQueston Urban Farm.
However, the album’s primary purpose is to support The Music Hall’s $2 million renovation, which will include a new HVAC system, new gender-neutral washrooms, upgraded lighting & sound technology, a new elevator and loading zone, and increased electrical infrastructure.
Intended to be completed ahead of the safe return of live performances, The Music Hall is working with local cultural organization Cobalt Connects and architecture firm mcCallumSather on the project.
