This Hamilton resident has been named Canada’s top YouTube creator

When YouTube first launched 15 years ago – yes, it’s been around that long – who could have predicted that it wouldn’t just become one of the internet’s most popular content destinations, but also allow people to skyrocket to fame and even make their living off of their videos?

Now, a notable Hamilton resident and fitness instructor is one of YouTube’s newest success stories, having just been named the top YouTube content creator in all of Canada.

Maddie Lymburner, who holds nearly 5 million subscribers on her popular YouTube channel MadFit, rose to wildly impressive levels of popularity with her series of interactive workout videos guiding viewers through a wide variety of exercise routines.

Making her achievement official, YouTube Canada announced on December 1st that the 25 year-old Hamilton resident has been named the website’s Top Canadian Creator for 2020, as well as earning the title of Top Breakout Canadian Creator.

In fact, 2020 was the year Lymburner’s channel truly skyrocketed, growing her audience five-fold since 2019 as more and more people sought out instructional videos for “apartment-friendly” home workouts while being confined to their houses more than ever amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

But her presence on YouTube didn’t start there. Lymburner began posting vegan diet videos back in 2015, eventually starting MadFit, her current channel, in 2018.

Today, through shooting, editing, and posting multiple new videos each week, it has become the YouTube creator’s full-time job; one that has blasted her to internet fame and acclaim well beyond Hamilton’s borders.
