This Apple TV+ series has been back filming in Hamilton

Among the constant plethora of film & television projects filming here in Hamilton, a series for Apple TV+ has also been spotted shooting scenes around town.

The series is called Ghostwriter: a TV show for children – based on the series of the same title that ran for three seasons from 1992 to 1995 – following four kids who team up to solve the mystery when a ghost haunting a local book shop begins releasing fictional characters out into the real world.

The show’s second season has been filming in various spots around Hamilton, following a first season that received unanimous praise from critics and earned a rare 100 per cent fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Hamilton is seen constantly in this series reboot, most notably with the story’s central bookshop, which happens to be the gorgeous James Street Bookseller and Gallery at 134 James Street South.

Scenes from Ghostwriter’s first season also feature appearances from notable local landmarks such as the city’s International Village, the Hamilton GO Station, Gage Park, the former home of Cathedral High School, and spots near Confederation Park.

For the show’s second season, Ghostwriter was recently on location at Hamilton’s historic Dundurn Castle for filming, and will undoubtedly be popping up in other familiar local spots as they complete production on season two.

For now, the first season of Ghostwriter is available to stream on Apple TV+, with a firm release date for season two yet to be announced!
