Judas Priest will be playing a concert in Hamilton

Could… could it be? Could live shows be returning later this year?

That certainly seems to be the case, with immensely popular heavy metal rockers Judas Priest announcing they’ll be playing a massive concert right here in Hamilton this fall.

The English heavy metal band, first formed in 1969 and still going strong today, is making the Hammer’s own FirstOntario Centre a stop on its 2021 tour in belated celebration of the band’s landmark 50th anniversary.

It’s one of just three Canadian stops on the band’s rescheduled North American tour, with the other two stops in Halifax, Nova Scotia and Laval, Quebec.

The whole thing kicks off in September with Live Nation producing, and runs through to November, with Judas Priest accompanied opener Sabaton at Hamilton’s FirstOntario Centre on November 5th, 2021.

The concert will also be significant as one of the first major live events to happen in Hamilton following the massive stall of the performing arts industry amid the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

By November, promising numbers of the population are expected to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, allowing for the hopeful, safe return of large-scale live events after over a year’s drought.

Tickets for Judas Priest’s 50 Heavy Metal Years Tour went on sale via Core Entertainment on Friday, and can be purchased here.
