Hamilton’s Supercrawl announces lineup for free livestream concert series

Supercrawl – the organization behind one of Hamilton’s biggest annual arts & culture festivals – has announced its 2021 lineup of free livestream concerts, and it’s music to our ears.

With the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, this is the second year in a row that Supercrawl has been unable to host its major James North festival, which typically draws in tens of thousands of people from Hamilton and well beyond for a series of concerts, art installations, street performances, vendors, food, and more.

However, to keep the music alive in the meantime, Supercrawl is presenting a series of nine special concerts that will be streamed live virtually as well as in front of a small, physically distanced audience at the Bridgeworks event space at 200 Caroline Street North.

So what’s the lineup, you ask? The series kicks off on August 20th with a concert by blues & folk artist Jeremy Albino, followed by Hamilton rapper LTtheMonk on August 21st and a joint concert between iskwē and Tom Wilson (of Lee Harvey Osmond fame) on August 22nd.

Then, on August 29th, Luckystickz and Angela Nethersole take the stage, with a concert by punk-rockers Bad Waitress following on September 4th and R&B artist Nuela Charles on September 10th.

The series winds down with rapper Cadence Weapon on September 11th, folk artist Catherine MacLellan on September 12th, and a closing concert by folk-rock band Athanase on September 26th.

All of the livestream concerts will begin at 7 pm on their performance dates, and tickets are available as of Friday, July 23rd for each of the shows.
