It’s happening: Burlington’s biggest and best outdoor musical festival is making a comeback in 2022.
Sound of Music Festival, which typically takes over Downtown Burlington for a few days in a summer celebration of live music, has naturally had to cancel its usual large-scale event for the past two seasons due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Sound of Music is back in 2022!! Starting next week, we will be announcing two SOM bands every week up until the festival. However, with a brighter outlook for Summer of 2022, the annual festival has announced its exciting return from Thursday, June 16th to Sunday, June 19th.
Live performers, street vendors, great food, and a midway full of carnival rides can be expected at the 2022 Sound of Music Festival, with a host of music acts gradually being announced over the coming months to build anticipation.
So far, Sound of Music Festival has announced Saskatchewan blues-rockers Wide Mouth Mason and Alberta country band High Valley as part of the lineup, with plenty more artists and bands still to be announced.
Sound of Music Festival will also be bringing back its sister event, Live on the Lake, on June 11th, 2022 at Spencer Smith Park. The ticketed concert event will feature Three Days Grace, Saving Abel, Tim Hicks, and The Beaches.
