Alessia Cara will perform at NHL Heritage Classic in Hamilton

Anticipation is high for the NHL Heritage Classic game in Hamilton this weekend; and as much as sports fans are undoubtedly excited for the match, music fans also have something to look forward to.

Alessia Cara, the Grammy and Juno Award-winning artist, has just been announced as the headlining performer for the Heritage Classic. The game takes place this Sunday, March 13th at Tim Hortons Field, which has temporarily been converted from a football field to a hockey rink.

25-year-old Cara – a Mississauga native who now resides in Toronto – is known for her work in the pop and R&B idioms and for hit singles like Sweet Dream and Rooting for You.

In 2018, she made history as the first-ever Canadian artist to be awarded the Grammy for Best New Artist. Cara was also a big winner at the 2020 Juno Awards, nabbing Pop Album of the Year and Album of the Year for her record The Pains of Growing on top of a win for Songwriter of the Year.

Cara’s intermission performance at the NHL Heritage Classic is sure to provide a nice jolt of electricity on top of an already energized event.

Don’t miss the thrilling match between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Buffalo Sabres this Sunday, March 13th at 4 pm EST on Sportsnet, TNT, and TVA Sports.
