Nominees for the 2022 Juno Awards have been announced, and there’s some strong Hamilton representation in the mix.
In fact, two prominent Hamilton rock bands – Arkells and The Dirty Nil – are both up for 2022 Rock Album of the Year for their records Blink Once and Fuck Art, respectively.

On top of their nomination for Rock Album of the Year, the Arkells are also up for Group of the Year among fellow nominees Loud Luxury, Mother Mother, The Reklaws, and Valley.
Both the Arkells and The Dirty Nil are no strangers to the Junos, either. The Arkells have received numerous Juno nods and wins over the years, including wins for New Group of the Year in 2010, Group of the Year in 2012, and Rock Album of the Year as well as Group of the Year in 2015.
Hard rockers The Dirty Nil, originally formed in 2006, notably won the Juno Award for Breakthrough Group of the Year in 2017.
The Juno Awards are some of Canada’s most prominent, prestigious awards recognizing achievements in the Canadian music industry. This year’s nominee lineup is stacked and diverse, so be sure to tune in to the ceremony on May 15th, 2022 at 8 pm!
