Hamilton-born actor Martin Short celebrates 13th Emmy Award nomination

Legendary Hamilton actor and comedian Martin Short is celebrating his 13th Primetime Emmy Award nomination.

The 72-year-old, Hamilton-born performer has received critical acclaim for his role as Oliver Putnam in the hit TV series Only Murders in the Building, co-starring alongside Steve Martin and Selena Gomez.

The series – currently available to Canadians on Disney Plus – pairs riotous comedy with intriguing murder mystery as the unlikely trio of Short, Martin, and Gomez starts their own true crime podcast documenting their attempts to solve a murder case in their New York apartment community.

On top of an acting nod for Short, the series landed an impressive 17 nominations at the 2022 Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for Steve Martin, and Outstanding Comedy Series.
