Weekend events in Hamilton September 22-23 2018

Looking for something fun to do this weekend? Look no further. We’ve found a wide range of events in Hamilton for all ages and interests to enjoy.

Here’s what’s happening in the city this weekend.

Saturday

Springridge Farm Harvest Festival

Looking for a fun day trip outside of the city? Travel up to Milton for Springridge Farm’s Harvest Festival.

Embrace the autumnal vibes and enjoy a day of fun geared towards the entire family. At the Harvest Festival there will be a professional puppet show, wagon rides, giant corn trails, farm animals, barbecue, baking, fall décor and so much more!

The Harvest Festival takes place at Springridge Farm in Milton, Ontario. The festival runs from 10 am to 4 pm. Admission is $13 and all ages are welcome.

Ancaster Fair

The Ancaster Fair is back for its 168 season and it’s going to be a good one!

Take some time to unplug this weekend and spend a day out with the entire family. The Ancaster Fair is full of exciting things to see and do, such as watching the demolition derby, riding the midway, listening to live music, visiting vendors and trying all the different fair food.

The fair takes place at the Ancaster Fairgrounds. Admission is $13 for adults, $10 for seniors and $5 for kids 14 and under. Doors open at 9 am.

Kegs4Cancer

Love beer and supporting incredible causes? You need to check out this year’s Kegs4Cancer event.

Kegs4Cancer’s mission is to raise funds to advance medical technology for McMaster Children’s Hospital Oncology program. Their goal is to help make cancer victims cancer survivors.

This year’s Kegs4Cancer event is Oktoberfest themed. The event will feature live entertainment, backyard style games as well as a live art performance by Smith & Patel.

The event takes place at Gage Park’s Bandshell, running from 1 – 8 pm. Tickets are available both online and at the door.

Hamilton Burlesque Society: Season of the Witch

We are happy to announce that burlesque is back in Hamilton. This weekend, be amazed by Hamilton Burlesque Society’s presentation of Season of the Witch.

The evening will be an incredible combination of narrative and performance. Based around dark mystic tales woven together by supreme storyteller Dainty Smith, the evening will feature various burlesque performances and a prologue reading by Anishnaabe poet Laura Kooji.

The show takes place at The Casbah, with doors opening at 7 pm and the show starting at 8 pm. General standing tickets are available for purchase online.

Hamilton Fall Wedding Show

Whether you’re planning your wedding, dreaming of your big day or just love all things bridal, the Hamilton Fall Wedding Show is your must-visit weekend activity.

The show can be a helpful tool for planning your wedding, as it provides sound advice, trusted vendors and inspiring ideas for celebrating your wedding day. This weekend’s show will have over 100 exhibitors, catwalk fashion shows, door prizes and much more.

The wedding show takes place at the Hamilton Convention Centre with doors opening at 12 pm. This is an all ages event. Tickets are $12 and are available both online and at the door; kids 12 and under are free.

MERIT Brewing Tour & Tasting

Have you ever wondered about how beer is made? Check out MERIT Brewing’s tour and tasting. As Hamilton’s only brewpub, MERIT truly knows their stuff.

At the tour and tasting, you will tour MERIT’s brewery, taproom and bottle shop, discover how beer is made and explore the intricate world of their beer and food. The tour and tasting includes 12oz beer samples and the tour lasts 30 minutes.

The tour takes place at MERIT brewing at 2 pm. Tickets cost $10 and are available for reservation online.
