Steeltown Stair Climb

When: Saturday November 10, 2018 at 10 am
Where: 100 King Street West
Admission: Tickets are $38. Registration is required to participate

Love being active and helping those in need? Here’s your chance to step up and make a difference.

Join your fellow Hamiltonians at this year’s Steeltown Stair Climb. This year’s charity climb will take you up all 25 flights of stairs of the iconic Stelco tower located at 100 King Street West.

The Steeltown Stair Climb benefits The Lung Association, an organization that’s dedicated to doing everything humanly possible to improve lung health and the lives of those who struggle to breathe.

Creative Exchange – Focus on Film

When: Saturday November 10, 2018 from 10 am to 12 pm
Where:  Sheraton Hotel
Admission: Free

Are you working in Hamilton’s creative arts industry and looking to make new connections? This month’s Creative Exchange is the perfect opportunity to do so.

The Creative Exchange is a free, casual meet-up designed to bring Hamilton-based film, music, fashion and other creative industries together. The goal is to increase networking amongst creative groups while visiting different spaces in the city. This month’s exchange focuses on film and is presented in partnership with the Hamilton Film Festival

Hamilton Film Festival

When: Saturday November 10, 2018 from 10 am to 11:30 pm & Sunday November 11, 2018 from 1 pm to 11:30 pm
Where:  Staircase Cafe Theatre and The Zoetic
Admission: Free

Come on out this weekend and enjoy the 13th annual Hamilton Film Festival. This is Hamilton’s largest and longest running film festival, having roots that go back over 20 years!

The film festival celebrates the art of movie making from concept to completion. From budding filmmaker to Hollywood pro, they’re always working to move the film industry in Hamilton a little further each year.

Saturday’s selection offers viewers the chance to see films from around the globe. There’ll be two dramatic shorts screenings and three feature-length films being shown throughout the day. The screenings take place across the city and tickets are available online. More information on the screenings can be found on the festival’s website.

Canadian Japanese Cultural Centre Gala

When: Saturday November 10, 2018 from 6 to 10 pm
Where:  Canadian Japanese Cultural Centre of Hamilton
Admission: Tickets are $78 and are available online (a $40 tax receipt for the charitable donation will be available)

Forty years ago, the Canadian Japanese Cultural Centre of Hamilton started offering classes and programs that promote Japanese culture. To celebrate this milestone, the Cultural Centre is hosting an anniversary gala.

The gala includes a Japanese-inspired four-course meal, Japanese entertainment and a silent auction. A cash bar with local beer, wine, and sake will also be available.

Bump, Baby and Toddler Marketplace

When: Saturday & Sunday November 10 & 11 from 9 am to 3 pm
Where: Hamilton Convention Centre
Admission: $7 in advance or $10 at the door

The Bump, Baby & Toddler Marketplace returns to Hamilton again this weekend. This marketplace is designed for expecting parents, parents with young children, caregivers of young children, or just about anyone with a child in their life.

This marketplace brings the latest products for parents and children alike. You will find things for newborns, toddlers, and for those expecting. Businesses, bloggers, and other parents will be attending the event to share their insights and tips.

Remembrance Day Services

When: Sunday November 11 from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm
Where: Services are taking place at Ancaster Old Town Hall, Dundas Lions Memorial Community Centre, Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, Stoney Creek Cenotaph, St. George’s Reformed Episcopal Church, Veteran’s Place at Gore Park and Royal Canadian Legion’s Beverly Branch 500, Branch 163 and Waterdown Branch 55.
Admission: Free

To honour Hamilton’s veterans and service men and women, Hamilton is hosting multiple Remembrance Day services across the city.

The Gore Park service includes a military parade from the James Street Armouries starting at 10:15 am.

All are encouraged to attend.

Hamilton Ti-Cats vs. BC Lions

When: Sunday November 11 at 1 pm
Where: Tim Hortons Field
Admission: Tickets are available online.

Sunday’s playoff day in Hamilton as the Tiger-Cats prepare to take on the BC Lions. Get outside, enjoy some afternoon football and cheer on your home team one last time this season.
