The Gore Park Christmas tree lighting is this Friday!

Gore Park is aiming to be quite the spectacle this year. From a proper Ferris wheel to a full blown Christmas market, the historic park is undoubtedly the place to be this weekend.

To kick things off, the annual Christmas Tree of Hope Lighting and Concert will commence this Friday at 5 pm!

Afterward, the surrounding Christmas market will be open to the public and free rides to the Ferris wheel will begin.

That night you’ll also be able to enjoy free live music from the Troy Harmer Band, grab a selfie with Santa, enjoy some free maple taffy on snow, and take in the Christmas décor around the park.

Continuing your magical day in Downtown, we highly encourage you to walk down King Street East between 6 – 9 pm for Victorian Night in the Village! There’ll be horse & carriage rides, free hot apple cider, Victorian carolers on the street, live music, and a DJ!

This year the International Village BIA will also have a Santa’s workshop set up in Ferguson Station where Santa will be to take photos with children.

The shops and restaurants of #thevillage usually offer specials and sales that night, making it the perfect time to explore some of the many shops along the strip.

There’s no question that the Christmas tree lighting, Christmas market, and Victorian Night in the Village together will create an amazing kick off to the holiday season in Hamilton.

The Gore Park Ferris Wheel will continue to operate daily through December 23rd from noon until 8 pm.

Will we be seeing you this Friday? What activity are you most excited for? Let us know in the comments!
