Hamilton Diecast Association Show and Sale

When: Saturday April 13, 2019 from 10 am to 3 pm
Where: Kingdom Worship Centre
Admission: Free

Long time fan of Hot Wheels and other Diecasts? You can’t miss this special Hamilton Diecast Association show and sale.

Thousands of hard to find Hot Wheels and diecast models will be on hand to view and buy. There will also be door prizes, raffles, head to head races and custom builders competitions. Enthusiasts of all ages are invited to attend this show and sale.

Milli: A Celebration of Style

When: Saturday April 13, 2019 from 11 am – 6 pm
Where: Art Gallery of Hamilton
Admission: $10

The Art Gallery of Hamilton is pleased to announce it will present a new exhibition featuring iconic Canadian luxury retailer Milli.

Milli: A Celebration of Style brings together ensembles that span Milli Gould’s first half-century in business.

CKA ARTescape

When: Saturday April 13, 2019 at 7 pm
Where: Hamilton Conservatory for the Arts
Admission: $20-$25, tickets available online

Culture for Kids in the Arts’ (CKA) Board of Directors present an evening of merriment, food and libations at its second annual fundraising event, ARTescape.

Groove to vinyl spins, be dazzled by the silent auction and test your wits in pop-up escape rooms. It’ll be a good time for a good cause, with proceeds connecting kids to creativity for a better community. This 19+ event features a cash bar and cocktail dress code.

Hermitage Ruins Ghost Walk

When: Saturday April 13, 2019 at 7 pm
Where: Hermitage Ruins
Admission: $15, tickets available online

Love learning about Hamilton’s ghostly history? The Hermitage Ruins ghost tour is sure to give you all of the spooky knowledge you crave.

Being in a forest surrounded by the ruins of a haunted mansion is the perfect opportunity for telling ghost stories. On the tour, you will learn about Ancaster’s famous legends, a doomed coachman, and local places for dark rituals.

Virtual Reality Experience – BBC 1943 Berlin Blitz

When: Saturday April 13, 2019 and Sunday April 14, 2019 from 9 am – 5 pm
Where: Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum
Admission: Free with regular admission ($10-$15)

The BBC has created a masterfully animated Virtual Reality Experience using Vaughan-Thomas’ original war recordings, which vividly capture the danger of the bombing raid.

This unique cinematic experience transports visitors inside the bomber as the crew endures endless flak and a night fighter attack in their journey to the heart of Nazi-occupied Europe.

Presented in immersive Virtual Reality, this powerful experience is the closest that one can get to truly experiencing the bravery demonstrated by Bomber Command. The 14-minute experience is available for those aged 13 and up on a first come, first serve basis.

Spiders Alive!

When: Saturday April 13, 2019 and Sunday April 14, 2019 from 10 am – 5 pm
Where: Royal Botanical Gardens
Admission: $10-18

In the last weekend for Spiders Alive!, visitors can explore spider anatomy and evolutionary history, learn about their signature traits, and be surprised by little-known defence mechanisms.

In addition to the live spiders representing approximately 17 species, the exhibition includes larger-than-life models of spiders, a climbable spider model, and a 100-million-year-old fossil of a spider in limestone.

Monster Jam

When: Saturday April 13, 2019 and Sunday April 14, 2019 at 1 pm and 7 pm
Where: FirstOntario Centre
Admission: $18-$102, tickets available online

Monster Jam is adrenaline-charged family entertainment, providing jaw-dropping displays and gravity-defying feats that promise to always leave fans entertained.

At the Monster Jam, world-class drivers push perfectly engineered trucks to their limits in a variety of competitions that will put families on the edge of the seats and leave them craving more.

gritLIT: Hamilton’s Readers & Writers Festival

When: Saturday April 13, 2019 and Sunday April 14, 2019
Where: Homewood Suites by Hilton
Admission: $8-65, tickets available online

Hamilton’s Readers and Writers Festival was launched in 2004. Since then, gritLIT has brought over 400 of the best writers in Canada to Hamilton for readings, writing workshops, panel discussions, interviews and events for youth and children.

If you love reading, writing or all things literature, you can’t miss this festival.

The Calidore String Quartet

When: Sunday April 14, 2019 from 2 – 4 pm
Where: Art Gallery of Hamilton
Admission: $15-$35, available online

The New York City based Calidore Quartet will be visiting Hamilton this Sunday for a special performance.

The quartet will dig deep for their audience with the profound Beethoven Op. 131, works by Haydn, and a couple of pieces by Pulitzer prize winning composter Caroline Shaw.

SalsaSoul Sunday

When: Sunday April 14, 2019 from 7 – 10:30 pm
Where: The Spice Factory
Admission: $10

Are you ready to dance the night away at this month’s Latin dance social? Strut your stuff on down to The Spice Factory and enjoy this fun and friendly social.

Beginner dance lessons start at 7 pm and the dance social begins at 7:45 pm. There will also be performances from Nuvitzo Dance’s performance teams.
