Weekend events in Hamilton June 22-23, 2019

Here’s what’s happening in the city this weekend.

Yoga with Alpacas and Sheep

When: Saturday June 22, 2019 at 8:30 am
Where: Fibre Friends Yoga
Admission: $20, register online

Fibre Friends Yoga is pleased to offer an incredible outdoor yoga experience unlike any other. At Fibre Friends, you will participate in a yoga class amongst alpacas and sheep.

The alpacas are very calm and curious, while the sheep are very well socialized and love being around people. The outdoor setting is very peaceful; the collective humming from the alpacas will ease you into meditation. Be sure to bring your own yoga mat and towel.

Psychic and Wellness Fair

When: Saturday June 22, 2019 from 10 am – 4 pm
Where: Erland Lee Museum
Admission: Free

Enjoy an activity-filled day at this year’s Psychic and Wellness fair. The fair will include vendors, readers, holistic health practitioners, a silent auction, and so much more.

All proceeds from this event will directly support the Erland Lee Museum. This event is for entertainment purposes only.

Tavern Town Beer Festival

When: Saturday June 22, 2019 from 1 – 5 pm
Where: Dundas Museum and Archives
Admission: $20 for members, $25 for guests

Visit Dundas Museum and Archives this weekend for Tavern Town Beer Festival. This unique event has been put on in conjunction with the museum’s feature exhibition Tavern Town: Dundas on Tap.

Each ticket includes a Tavern Town souvenir glass and five tokens, redeemable for samples of local craft beer, cider, and food.

The Pop Culture Market

When: Saturday June 22, 2019 from 1 – 6 pm
Where: This Ain’t Hollywood
Admission: Free

Love all things pop culture? You can’t miss visiting the Pop Culture Market this weekend.

This weekend’s market will have an assortment of records, video games, clothing, comics, memorabilia and so much more. Whether you’re looking to buy, sell, or trade your pop culture merchandise, this market has a little something for everyone.

The National

When: Saturday June 22, 2019 from 2:30 – 11 pm
Where: Pier 8
Admission: $93 and up, available online

Collective Concerts and Supercrawl have teamed up to present The National at Pier 8.

This outdoor concert will feature The National, Alvvays, Hayden, Jennifer Castle and the Angels of Death Band, and Hannah Georgas. Every ticket for this show includes a digital download of The National’s forthcoming album.

One dollar from every ticket will go to organizations that bring equity, dignity, and access to communities who need it.

Racalmutese Festival of Maria Del Monthe

When: Saturday June 22, 2019 and Sunday June 23, 2019 from 10 am – 10 pm
Where: Our Lady of All Souls Church Parking Lot
Admission: Free

The annual feast of the Madonna del Monte is one of the most important festivities in south-central Sicily.

This Italian festival includes live entertainment, food vendors, a beer garden, an inflatable play area, face painting, sweet treats, a bocce tournament and ends with pyrotechnics and a laser show.

Artsfest Summer Festival

When: Saturday June 22, 2019 from 11 am – 11 pm and Sunday June 23, 2019 from 11 am – 9 pm
Where: Downtown Westdale
Admission: Free

Artsfest is Westdale’s annual celebration of the arts in all its forms.

Showcasing great music, food, crafts, and fine arts, Artsfest offers something for everyone who loves to support arts and culture in their community.

FrancoFEST

When: Saturday June 22, 2019 and Sunday June 23, 2019 from 12 – 10 pm
Where: Gage Park
Admission: Free

FrancoFEST is the largest francophone arts and culture festival on the Niagara Peninsula.

This two-day festival celebrates the vibrant francophone community and its dynamic Francophile supporters. The festival will include musical performances, performing arts, fun activities, and great food.

Sourdough & Cider Experience

When: Sunday June 23, 2019 from 1 – 3 pm
Where: West Avenue Cider House
Admission: $150, tickets available online

The world of sourdough is vast and magical. At this Sourdough and pie workshop you’ll learn the basics of baking with sourdough through hands-on work.

Come spend the day with like-minded bakers and learn about all things sourdough through an in-depth experience of making your own pie crust and mixing + shaping sourdough loaves.

At the end of the workshop, each student will go home with a recipe booklet, sourdough starter, and instructions to keep it alive, a well as a loaf of sourdough and a pie to bake at home.

Go Shuck Yourself

When: Sunday June 16, 2019 at 7 pm
Where: Grain&Grit Beer Co
Admission: $60, tickets available online

Come and learn all that you could possibly want to know about oysters at this weekend’s Go Shuck Yourself.

Not only will this workshop teach you how to open an oyster perfectly every time, but you’ll also be given 12 oysters, a custom knife, a flight of Grain & Grit beer, and two hours of fun with a bunch of other awesome people.
