Where: Williams Fresh Cafe
Admission: Free

Discover (or rediscover) Hamilton’s quickly changing waterfront on this free walking tour by Tour Guys. Join a local expert guide on a leisurely stroll from William’s Fresh Cafe on the water’s edge through a quaint neighbourhood that was once home to dock workers and labourers and along boardwalks through waterfront parks and piers while learning about the city’s industrial history, prohibition era rum-runners, and how the area is being changed.

The tour will conclude at the HMCS Haida, Canada’s “fightingest warship” which was involved in WWII, Korea, and the Cold War and now a National Heritage Site. After the tour, you are welcome to board and tour the ship on your own (admission is about $4 for adults and free for children) and visit the nearby free museum. The tour lasts 90 minutes.

This tour starts in the lobby of the Hamilton GO Centre and is designed for locals who want to learn more about their city and visitors from “down the road” and abroad who want to know why there’s so much buzz in certain circles about Hamilton. The tour lasts 90 minutes.

August Vegan Potluck

You do not have to be vegan to attend this potluck at Bayfront Park. Just bring a vegan-friendly dish with the recipe or ingredient card attached, and bring your own water bottle, utensils, plates, and bowls!

The event highly recommends bringing a NON-VEGAN friend so that they can learn more about living a vegan lifestyle, meet awesome vegans, and try some new foods. After all, the way to someone’s heart is always through good food.

There’s plenty to do and see this weekend, Hamilton. Get on out there and experience something new!

What will you be doing this weekend? Are you attending any of these events? Let us know in the comments.
