Discover Hamilton Beer Tour

When: Saturday August 3, 2019 at 11 am
Where: Grupetto Cafe
Admission: $119 and up, available online

Discover Hamilton’s boom craft brewing and cider scene.

This tour explores craft beer and hard cider artisans across Dundas and Hamilton — you will visit three fantastic craft breweries and one brilliant cider house. Experience the passion and labour that goes into making small batch beer and cider.

Ticket price includes transportation, snacks, Red Door Cucina lunch, and more!

Hamilton Honey Badgers vs. Guelph Nighthawks

When: Saturday August 3, 2019 at 5 pm
Where: FirstOntario Centre
Admission: $20 and up, available online

The Hamilton Honey Badgers are set to take on the Guelph Nighthawks this Saturday in what is chalking up to be an amazing game.

Head down to FirstOntario Centre, wear your black and gold, and get ready to cheer on your home team!

Virtual Reality Experience – BBC 1943 Berlin Blitz

When: Saturday August 3, 2019 and Sunday August 4, 2019 from 9 am – 5 pm
Where: Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum
Admission: Free with regular admission ($10-$15)

The BBC has created a masterfully animated Virtual Reality Experience using Vaughan-Thomas’ original war recordings, which vividly capture the danger of the bombing raid.

This unique cinematic experience transports visitors inside the bomber as the crew endures endless flak and a night fighter attack in their journey to the heart of Nazi-occupied Europe.

Presented in immersive Virtual Reality, this powerful experience is the closest that one can get to truly experiencing the bravery demonstrated by Bomber Command. The 14-minute experience is available for those aged 13 and up on a first come, first serve basis.

Ice Cream Carnival

When: Saturday August 3, 2019 and Sunday August 4, 2019 from 10 am – 4 pm
Where: Westfield Heritage Village
Admission: $6.50 and up

Celebrate summer this long weekend at the Edwardian Ice Cream Carnival.

There will be carnival games, food, amusements and music, as well as hand cranked ice cream making demonstrations and samples throughout the day. Don’t miss this delicious and festive family outing!

The Enchanted Garden Weekend

When: Saturday August 3, 2019 and Sunday August 4, 2019 from 11 am – 4 pm
Where: Royal Botanical Gardens
Admission: $14.85 and up

Calling all gnomes, fairies, pixies and sprites! Make your way to the Royal Botanical Gardens where a touch of magic awaits you.

Meet mystical creatures, participate in magical activities, and learn the secrets of the Enchanted Garden.

Festival of Friends

When: Saturday August 3, 2019 and Sunday August 4, 2019 from 12 pm – 12 am
Where: Gage Park
Admission: Free

Festival of Friends is Hamilton’s long-running, legendary summer festival. Featuring two live music stages, the festival showcases well known-Canadian acts a well as arts, crafts, and food trucks.

This year’s musical acts include country star Tanya Tucker headlining a country-themed Saturday, while Sunday will feature and ‘80s feel with Loverboy.

Historic Garden Tours at Dundurn

When: Saturday August 3, 2019 and Sunday August 4, 2019 from 2 – 3 pm
Where: Dundurn National Historic Site
Admission: Free

Visit Dundurn Castle this weekend to enjoy stories and historic gardening knowledge conveyed by the Castle’s garden staff.

The tour will teach visitors what it was like for Dundurn’s Kitchen Garden staff to cater to the MacNab family 150 years ago. The garden tour is free, but admission rates will apply if you wish to visit the museum.

Hamilton Harbourfront Night Market

When: Saturday August 3, 2019 and Sunday August 4, 2019 from 2 pm – 12 am
Where: Hamilton Harbourfront
Admission: Free

With the jaw-dropping Bayfront Park as the backdrop, Hamilton Harbourfront Night Market is an event welcome to anyone looking to enjoy food and plenty of company.

Featuring local eats and talented vendors across the GTHA, each vendor is hand picked and specially selected to provide quality and uniquely crafted items you may only find here. Enjoy merchants, over 30 food vendors as well as a bar zone.

KW Flamenco Fest

When: Sunday August 4, 2019 from 2:30 – 4:30 pm
Where: Staircase Café Theatre
Admission: $20 and up, available online

Flamenco at the Staircase theatre brings Hamilton an exciting spectacle of guitar, singing, and dance.

This year, the guest performer is the phenomenal flamenco dancer Ronaldo Monge from Puerto Rico, accompanied by Claudia Aguirre and Julian Berg-Calujules.

Music at Fieldcote

When: Sunday August 4, 2019 from 6:30 – 9 pm
Where: Fieldcote Memorial Park & Museum
Admission: Free, $5 a person as a suggested donation

Visit Fieldcote Museum this Sunday for an outdoor evening of music.

Bring a lawn chair or blanket and find a spot to settle in for the night and be entertained. This weekend’s performer will be Alana Bridgewater, who will be joined by two Juno celebrated Canadian jazz artists Paul Novotny and Robi Botos.
