Vital Signs is debuting new mental health data in Hamilton

It’s safe to say that pretty much everyone is affected by mental illness at some time and in some way or another. That’s why Hamiltonians will find lots of interest in some new data on mental health and addiction being released in the city this week.

Vital Signs: Mental Health and Addition is a presentation that will debut new findings in local mental health research. The event is free to attend and open to the public.

Presented by the Hamilton Community Foundation, the event will include a panel discussion featuring local mental health experts including Dr. Elizabeth Richardson (Medical Officer of Health for the City of Hamilton), David Hoy (Director of Social Work for the HWDSB), Dr. Tim O’Shea (from the Mental Health Network), and Francis Jewell (Executive Director of the Mental Health Rights Coalition of Hamilton). The moderated discussion will conclude with an audience Q&A.

The discussion promises to be a fascinating and informative look at new research findings surrounding local mental health issues. After the event, a complete report of the findings will be released later this fall for public access.

Vital Signs: Mental Health and Addiction takes place on Thursday, October 10th at 6:30 pm at the Hamilton Spectator building (44 Frid Street). Interested attendees can register in advance on the Hamilton Community Foundation’s website.
