Weekend events in Hamilton October 18-20, 2019

Here’s what’s happening in the city this weekend.

Hamilton Fall Garden & Mum Show

When: Friday October 18th, 2019 from 9 am – 7 pm, Saturday October 19th, 2019 from 9 am – 7 pm, Sunday October 20th, 2019 from 9 am – 7 pm
Where: Gage Park Tropical Greenhouse
Admission: General admission $7. Buy tickets at door.

The Mum Show started in 1920 and has seen many changes over the years. A new theme each year has taken Hamilton through dramatic scenes of flowers, colours and displays. The Chrysanthemum Show is an amazing floral display created by some of Hamilton’s finest horticulture staff. The display is a breathtaking feature of over 200 varieties of Chrysanthemums, and more than 100,000 blooms with a different theme each year.

Pumpkin Prowl

When: Friday October 18th, 2019 from 4:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Where: Belview Park
Admission:  Free, but register in advance on Eventbrite

Pumpkin Prowl is an alternative to Halloween. Whether it’s parenting time sharing for separated families, work schedules, or other reasons one parent isn’t able to spend the actual Halloween night with their child, grandchild, niece, nephew, etc., Pumpkin Prowl is a fast growing alternative to the big day itself. Games, prizes, vendors, and so much more.

Locke Street Fall Fest

When: Friday October 18th, 2019 from 6 pm – 9 pm
Where: Locke St. S
Admission: Free

There will be plenty of fun to be had along Locke street festival tonight, including a dog costume parade at My Dog’s Cafe & Bar, face Painting by Laura Herbert, raffle Prizes by Kabuki Skin Centre Spa, sweet treats including cotton candy and popcorn, trick or treating, a pumpkin carving demo, shops staying open late, and much more!

Find your Happy: 16 Guidelines for Life

When: Saturday October 19th, 2019 from 9:30 am – 4:30 pm
Where: McMaster Innovation Park
Admission: $35 – $70, tickets available on Eventbrite

This course gives practical tools for making every day life better. By noticing your patterns of speaking and acting, and understanding how our minds work through mindfulness and self -inquiry, you can find lasting fulfillment. You will learn the 16 guidelines that use mindfulness and group exercises based on compassion and ethics. These are designed to enhance your mental well-being, strengthen emotional resilience, and build positive relationships and communities — bringing happiness to you and those around you.

Stoney Creek PumpkinFest

When: Saturday October 19th, 2019 from 10 am – 6 pm
Where: Downtown Stoney Creek
Admission: Free

Visit downtown Stoney Creek for some family fun, all-day live music and entertainment, pumpkin painting, artisans and vendors, shopping, food trucks, a fall harvest, a fun zombie walk at 5 p.m., and trick-or-treat costume contest!

Hamilton Comic Con

When: Saturday October 19th, 2019 from 10 am – 5 pm, Sunday October 20th, 2019 from 10 am – 4 pm
Where: Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum

Hamilton Comic Con is Hamilton’s premier pop culture event. Over 100,000 square feet of vendors, artists, celebrities, autographs, photo ops, attractions, Q&As and panels, cosplay contest and so much more! Fun and excitement for the entire family.

Hamilton Zombie Walk

When: Saturday October 19th at 12 pm
Where: Gore Park
Admission:  Free

Hamilton Zombie Walk is back! Be sure to arrive around 12 pm as the walk begins at 1 pm sharp! The event is free to participate in, but non-perishable food donations are encouraged and welcomed. $100 prize awarded to the best costume!

Hamilton Hoedown

When: Saturday October 19th, 2019 from 4 pm – 10 pm
Where: Clifford Brewing Co.
Admission: $5 at door.

A good ol’ fashioned barn burner! Great beer, live music, food trucks, games, prizes, merch and more! Music by CJ Altmann, Golden Horseshoe Revival and The Handsome Devils. Food by The Dirty South and Donut Monster. And of course, Beers by Clifford Brewing Co. Western attire encouraged! Go for a hoot, stay for a holler!

Hamilton Tiger-Cats vs Ottawa Redblacks

When: Saturday October 19th, 2019 at 4 pm
Where: Tim Hortons Field
Admission: Prices vary. Buy tickets here.

Catch the action as the Hamilton Tiger-Cats take on the Ottawa Redblacks at Tim Hortons Field, and see Ti-Cats mascot Stripes stir up the crowd!

3rd Annual Fall Frolic 

When: Sunday October 20th, 2019 from 12 pm – 4 pm
Where: Earth to Table: The Farm
Admission: Prices vary. Buy tickets here.

An afternoon of live music, dancing, a camp fire, and celebrating the beautiful bounty of the harvest at Earth to Table: The Farm. Participate in three interactive masterclasses with Oyster Shucking Champion of Ontario, David Burns; the Butchery Masterclass with Jeff Crump, Chef and Owner of Bread Bar; and Perfect Pies Masterclass hosted by Mary Lou Ciancone. Enjoy a selection of local wines and beers and vote for your favourites in the Best of the Best competition.

Around The World In 90 Minutes

When: Sunday October 20th, 2019 from 7 pm – 8:30 pm
Where: St. Andrews United Church
Admission: $10 at the door.

Come for a musical journey around the world, as the Hamilton Concert Band showcases some classical pieces from different regions. You won’t even need to pack a bag!

World Of Dance Live

When: Sunday October 20th, 2019 at 8 pm
Where: FirstOntario Concert Hall
Admission: Prices vary. Buy tickets here.

The World of Dance Live Tour is a live interpretation of the TV show “World of Dance”, NBC’s hit dance competition series. The tour consists of engaging and interactive 90-minute dance showcase, which includes the hottest stars from the television show, as well as dance icons from YouTube.
