Weekend events in Hamilton October 4-6, 2019

Here’s what’s happening in the city this weekend.

Hamilton Tattoo Expo

When: Friday October 4th, 2019 from 12 pm – 11 pm until Sunday October 6th, 2019 from 12 pm – 11 pm
Where: Hamilton Convention Centre

Hamilton’s Tattoo Expo, featuring local and international tattoo parlours, artists, and related industry experts, is the first of its kind for the Hamilton region. Attendees will be treated to live artistry,  products and services from the salon & body art community, top local bands headlining each evening, speakers and entertainers. There will be over 100 vendors to explore over 3 spectacular days.

Night At The Greenhouse

When: Friday October 4th, 2019 from 6 pm – 10 pm
Where: Gage Park Tropical Greenhouse

Escape to a local tropical oasis and be nourished the calming and revitalizing power of plants in a special event at Hamilton’s Tropical Greenhouse in Gage Park that will restore your body, mind and spirit with yoga, meditation and connection. This private event at the Tropical Greenhouse in Gage Park gives you exclusive evening access to peacefully stroll the rolling pathways through ponds and plant life, pause for mindful moments, and meet and socialize with like-minded friends.

OktoberWEST 

When: Friday October 4th, 2019 from 5 pm – 11 pm, Saturday October 5th, 2019 from 12 pm – 11 pm, and Sunday October 6th, 2019 from 12 pm – 6 pm
Where: Westdale Village
Admission: Free

Visit the Westdale Village, October 4th, 5th and 6th for OktoberWEST celebrations! There will be large patios, live oom pah pah music, food and entertainment!

Hamilton Tiger-Cats vs. Edmonton Eskimos

When: Friday October 4th, 2019 at 7 pm
Where: Tim Hortons Field

Go support your home team by dressing up in Tiger-Cats colours, making your way over to the game and cheering them on in our very own Tim Hortons Field!

Hamilton Food Literacy Fair

When: Saturday October 5th, 2019 from 10 am – 3 pm
Where: Bernie Morelli Recreation Centre
Admission: Free

As the official kick-off to Hamilton’s second annual Food Literacy Month, the Food Literacy Fair will feature interactive exhibits by Hamilton Food Literacy Network partners including give-aways, draw prizes, educational workshops such as making homemade fermented foods and a farm market with fresh, local food available for purchase. Plan to join them for this can’t-miss event for all Hamilton foodies!

Concession Fallfest

When: Saturday October 5th from 10 am – 4 pm
Where: Concession BIA
Admission: Free

Celebrate the start of the autumn solstice with free live music, horse & wagon rides, a fundraising corn roast and other Fall treats, shopping and much more!

House Plants Fundraiser

When: Saturday October 5th, 2019 from 6 pm – 10 pm
Where: Gage Park Tropical Greenhouse
Admission:  $25. Buy tickets here.

Head out for a fun evening to support the YWCA Hamilton’s new Ottawa Street affordable housing project. There will be a party among the plants in the new Gage Park Tropical Greenhouse. There will be good food, Collective Arts Brewing will be pouring local beer, cider, and gin and the Handsome Devils will be playing local country tunes with DJ Aerlie Wild and Reverend Marco D’Andrea spinning between sets. They have some great silent auction items lined up. All proceeds will support quality housing for women.

What A Night – 1960s Legends Live in Concert

When: Saturday October 5th, 2019 from 7:30 pm – 10:30 pm
Where: FirstOntario Centre

Hear some of your favorite music from the 1960s, with five amazing acts featuring original band members on one stage. Hosted by Ted Michaels of the Health and Wellness Show on Global News Radio CHML900. Proceeds will be donated to the Drive Foundation supporting mental health to fight addiction.

60’s-70’s Cruise

When: Saturday October 5th, 2019 from 8 pm – 11 pm
Where: Hamilton Harbour Queen

Get groovy baby! Join in on the Hamilton Harbour Queen for a blast from the past with the greatest hits of the 60’s and 70’s. They wanna see those bell bottoms and tie-dye outfits! Turn back the clock to those groovy peace-and-love decades aboard the Hamilton Harbour Queen for a 60’s-70’s cruise. Enjoy a far-out night under the stars out on the water of Hamilton harbour!

BootCAMP & Beer

When: Sunday October 6th, 2019 from 10:30 am – 12:30 pm
Where: Grain & Grit Brewing
Admission: $30. Buy tickets here.

On October 6th, Grain&Grit Brewing will be running a day camp called “BootCAMP & Beer”. BootCAMP and Beer is a team and partner work fitness class where attendees will switch partners and take the time to get to know each other throughout the class. After class, they will sit down, relax and hang out over a beer. One beer is included in the price of the ticket.

Part of the Machine: Rock & Pinball

When: Sunday October 6th, 2019 from 12 pm – 4 pm
Where: Joesph Brant Museum
Admission: $10 for adults, $8 for seniors/students, $6 for children.

The first special exhibition in the Showcase Gallery at the Joseph Brant Museum, is the Canadian premiere of Part of the Machine: Rock & Pinball from the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio. The interactive exhibition features rock-themed, playable pinball machines alongside merchandise and artifacts related to artists and bands.
