Cineplex will be offering a day of free movies in Hamilton

On Saturday December 7th, Cineplex Cinemas is offering Canadians a chance to watch a free movie at any participating location. The event is for their annual Community Day celebration, and will take place from 9 am to 11 am. Both Cineplex theatres in Hamilton will be participating in the event, as well as the Burlington Cineplex location.

Filmgoers won’t need to purchase tickets beforehand, but tickets will be given out on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you want to ensure you get a ticket, it is best to come right when doors open at 9 am.

This year, Cineplex has partnered with Warner Bros. to offer a classic, family-friendly holiday lineup that includes A Christmas Story, Elf, Gremlins, The Polar Express, and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. Showtimes begin at 9:30 am.

Guests will also be able to get concessions at a discounted rate. Popcorn, soft drinks, and select candies will cost just $2.50 each, with all proceeds going to Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada. BG Clubs serve over 200, 000 children across Canada.

According to their website, BG Clubs aims to provide safe, supportive places for children and youth within their communities. Their goal is to help children experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, build positive relationships, and unlock their potential.

This year will mark the ninth anniversary of Cineplex’s yearly Community Day event. Hamiltonians can attend screenings at Cineplex Ancaster or the cineplex on Hamilton Mountain. There is also a Cineplex theatre in nearby Burlington participating in the event.
