Though the majority of craft beer festivals are still on pause amid the pandemic, one particular Hamilton craft beer festival has found a unique way of pivoting for the 2021 iteration of their annual winter event.
Local beer festival brand Because Beer, which typically hosts their outdoor summer event with a whole host of Ontario craft breweries in Pier 4 Park, has also created a sister event, Because Brrr, to provide a craft beer experience in the chilly winter months each year.
Naturally, due to the continued impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Because Brrr can’t really go ahead as usual; but that doesn’t mean they can’t go ahead at all.
This year, the festival is adapting to a virtual online format, where attendees will be supplied with a range of local craft beer and cider in advance and be able to enjoy the festival from the safety and comfort of home.
From the comfort of your home on Friday February 12, experience an evening of great local craft beer & cider, industry talks & livestream concert from all-star trio Born in the Eighties! Because Brrr has partnered with Hamilton staples Clifford Brewing, Merit Brewing, Fairweather Brewing, Shawn & Ed Brewing Co, Collective Arts Brewing, and West Avenue Cider to create a special six pack of limited edition beverages delivered along with some festival swag.
While sipping on some terrific local beer, Because Brrr attendees can also join in on some virtual events including special talks with brewers from all of the featured Hamilton craft breweries, offering a behind-the-scenes perspective on how that delicious beer made it into your glass.
Sure, it may not be quite the same as being in a room full of craft beer lovers sipping and sampling; but it’s the next best thing right now and an adaptive way of bringing beer fans together amid tumultuous times.
Because Brrr’s 2021 virtual festival takes place on February 12th, 2021. Learn more and grab your tickets by visiting their website.
