Dr. Disc has reopened to the public

Good news for Hamilton’s music lovers and vinyl junkies: Dr. Disc, one of the city’s favourite record shops, has reopened for business and in-person browsing as of August 6th after seeing a temporary shop closure at the hands of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Though Dr. Disc was forced to close up like all other non-essential businesses at the outset of the pandemic, the beloved shop later switched to a curb-side pickup model in May that allowed locals to submit order requests, prepay for their records, and arrange a contactless pickup time.

Of course, a remote shopping experience can never truly replace the excitement and spontaneity of browsing through an untapped treasure trove of music finds, so the reopening of Dr. Disc’s full shop will undoubtedly thrill Hamilton music lovers who have missed the tactile pleasure of flipping through endless racks and stacks of records old and new.

Going forward, Dr. Disc will be open from 12 pm to 6 pm daily for in-person shopping, with a whole bunch of awesome new records in stock to choose from.

Until further notice, the store will only be allowing 4 customers inside at one time, and masks or face coverings are, of course, mandatory. Those who forget to bring a mask can purchase a disposable one at the door. Dr. Disc will also have hand sanitizer available at entry and exit.

A bit too soon for you to feel comfortable shopping in person? No worries: Dr. Disc will still be offering its curb-side pickup service for those who want to grow their vinyl collection but aren’t quite ready to venture back into shopping indoors just yet.

Dr. Disc is open at 20 Wilson Street daily from 12 pm to 6pm.
