Saltlick Smokehouse heats up the Hamilton Farmers’ Market

Meat lovers and barbeque buffs, get stoked like a fire: Saltlick Smokehouse has set up shop in the Hamilton Farmers’ Market and will be dishing out Southern-style smoked goodness starting this week.

Local foodies are certainly very familiar with Saltlick from its popular brick-and-mortar location on James North, serving up lunch, dinner, and Sunday brunch with everything from brisket to pork belly to fried chicken, complemented by an array of Southern-style slaws & sides and, of course, bourbon aplenty.

While drinks of the alcoholic variety won’t be on the menu at the Market, patrons can regularly expect plenty of smoked and cured meat awesomeness like pulled pork and slow-cooked brisket on offer at the new food stand, nestled close to other lunchtime faves like Pokeh, Best on Bread, Slurp, and The Flyin G’nosh in what is arguably becoming the city’s hottest food court.

But that’s not all! To celebrate the grand opening, Saltlick will be using the new space to host a handful of barbeque cooking classes, which can be booked at the market stall in-person or on Saltlick’s website. Upcoming classes include a Kimchi Class on September 21st; a Sausage Class on October 5th; and just in time for Thanksgiving weekend, a Turkey Class on October 12th. Yes, you’ll get to savour some sweet samples too. Hungry yet?

Saltlick Smokehouse joins the food force at the Hamilton Farmers’ Market starting Thursday, September 12th, and will subsequently be open for lunch and early dinner service during regular Market hours on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
