Art Gallery of Hamilton announces huge festival of art, music, film, and more

October is going to be a bustling month for art of all kinds in Hamilton, as the Art Gallery of Hamilton (AGH) announces a huge festival of visual art, film, live performance, and more.

Replacing the annual AGH Film Festival in favour of an event that covers a wider range of creative disciplines, the 2022 AGH Festival runs from October 14th to 23rd for a full 10 days of exciting arts & culture events, workshops, pop-ups, and happenings.

Taking place largely at the Art Gallery of Hamilton with select events at other venues like Mills Hardware and the Westdale Theatre, many of the experiences at the AGH Festival are free to attend.

Just some of what to expect includes Collective Arts Brewing’s launch party for their Series 24 artwork; a concert by local hip-hop artist LTtheMonk; artisan markets and family-friendly carnivals; pop-up performances by musicians like Matt Paxton, Ariana Fig, and James N. Wilson; and the Canadian premiere of the new Teenage Head documentary Picture My Face.

This barely scratches the surface of a jam-packed 10 days with a diverse array of events that features something for pretty much everyone.
